So it’s been a while since I’ve been online! It’s been a crazy month for me and I need to ease my way back. I’m more than a little shocked that I only lost a handful of followers but that’s okay. I’m not a massive blogger anyways.
So first off, I’ve been asked to be the Godmother of my cousin’s baby. Which for some people might be a great honor but I’m in no way a religious person and I know that the only reason I was asked was the fact that out of all the cousins, I’m the only one who isn’t a Godparent. Many of my friends say I would make a great mom but I just don’t see it. And while I did go to Sunday school (not by choice), once I was able to stop, I stopped. Even at a very young age, I didn’t believe in God so I don’t see how I would make a passable Godparent. So I spent some time convincing my aunt and uncle that I wouldn’t be insulted if they made her sister the Godmother. My mom was a little upset with me for doing that but she’s also knows I’m not going back to church to finish up whatever it is I’ll need to be a Godmother to a child I really have had no interaction with.
Also my mom and I went to visit a different cousin I remember growing up with. While I have a pretty extensive family, you could pretty much point one of them out as being related to me and I will have no clue who they are. But I remember this cousin and I love my aunt and uncle. The reason for the visit? My cousin had a baby, premature, and my mom went to help my aunt out. And since she doesn’t drive out of town, I had to go as well.
It’s been pretty rough. With the baby in NICU, they had to keep close tabs on him. It was a close call since they inserted a needle in his finger and he came close to losing it when they didn’t notice that it had turned purple!
I’m going to try to get some things queued but no promises yet.
Guess who was “volunteered” to help her brother-in-law pack up to move?
That’s right, this gal! Well I should say my ex-brother-in-law (my sister passed away years ago). After an unfortunate incident involving a much older woman who had her license revoked (she literally plowed into his living room!), he’s decided that after the remodel, he now wants to move into a much smaller home. Years ago when my sister passed away, we only brought home a portion of her things in respect of him. Now that he’s moving, my mom decided that we should bring more since he won’t have the room.
To make matters worse, she had to come home on the bus to take care of my grandmother so I stayed with him longer than I anticipated. Worse, my other sister moved so was stuck playing catch up and I ran out of things to say to him quickly. Much, much worse, I kept waiting for her cats to greet me in the mornings and every morning I had to remember that they were no longer alive.
So, it’s been a rough couple of weeks for me.
I went out of town this week and didn’t get a chance to queue anything before I left.
I swear I will add stuff tomorrow!
